Look Isaan's origins can be traced to the journey of a youngest daughter from an Isaan family, who relocated to Chiang Mai, the vibrant capital of the North. The brand name itself carries a profound meaning: Look Isaan signifies a daughter of the Northeastern region.
It was founded on the nostalgic memories and flavors of her youth, with a deep desire to revive and share those tastes once again. Look Isaan has sold through premium retail, including Rimping Supermarket, since 2020.
We strongly believe in the significance of supporting local, sustainable farming and collaborating closely with communities. It's not solely about operating a sustainable food business — it's about taking a small but meaningful step toward a positive impact. This balance nurtures the environment and promotes food stability within our society. It's a collective effort, and we're committed to doing our part.
It's not just the meat. Look Isaan sources organic garlic from the Baan Hong community in Lamphun, salt from centuries-old salt pits in Bueng Kan, and sticky rice grown by the Dok Kham cooperative. Even the cane sugar comes from a zero-waste farm in Phrao run by a local grower known as Auntie Wan.
The idea is simple: work directly with small Thai producers who've been doing things the traditional way for generations, rather than sourcing generically.
